8 x 10 gelatin silver print, made from a 6 x 8 glass plate negative taken by Rosenfeld and Sons on July 28, 1921. View of three schooners (R to L) OHONKARA, SONNICA, and DERVISH seen at the start of the New York Yacht Club cruise. OHONKARA, the foremost vessel, had a steel hull measuring 100 feet. She was Herreshoff designed and built, and launched in 1920 from Bristol, RI. SONNICA (ex. SAVARONA) was a Arthur Binney design, and was built by Lawley & Son in South Boston, 1906. She measured 114 feet in length. DERVISH was a Tams, Lemoine & Crane design, also built by Lawley & Son in South Boston, 1906. She measured 85 feet in length. Both SONNICA and DERVISH were wooden hulled vessels. Handwritten on back: "Start of Schooners NYYC Cruise 1921 / Ohonkara C-2 foreground".
