8 x 10 glass plate negative taken by Rosenfeld and Sons. Image taken as part of long term commissioned work and documentation for the American Telephone & Telegraph Company, ranging from 1910 through the 1940s. Interior view of the Ballermann's Grocery Department, probably taken in New York City between 1912 and 1913. View of a woman clerk seen recording a telephone order while another woman shops in the background. Merchandise includes:"TEMPLE GARDEN TEA", "UNCLE SAM Food", "Heeker's Cream Hominy", "Post Tosties", "QUAKER WHEAT", and various other dry goods. A large scale is seen behind the shopping woman. She is wearing a long dark skirt with a white blouse, a ladies hat, and holds a clutch purse. The clerk also wears a dark skirt but a less embellished white blouse, her long hair is bunched back and clipped loosely.
