Image taken as part of long term commissioned work and documentation for the American Telephone & Telegraph Company, ranging from 1910 through the 1940s. View of the New Palace Theatre in Boston, Mass. Building facade seen with billboards advertising: "GREAT PICTURE SPECIAL / THE DEAD MANS CHILD / DETECTIVE STORY...". This negative is a copy of a photograph, original date of photograph unknown, date of this copy negative is 1915 or 1916. Large white matte board captured in negative with handwritten caption: "The Birthplace of the Telephone. / 109 Court St. Boston, Mass. / On the top floor of this building, in 1875, / Professor Bell carried on his experiments / and first succeeded in transmitting speech / by electricity." Edge of negative is masked with black paper. Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "2794 . 224--4 / #C / good plate / Box 224".
