4 x 5 Kodak safety negative taken by Rosenfeld and Sons on August 23, 1949. Deck view of the crew unloading cargo from the hold aboard the Farrell Line ship, AFRICAN ENDEAVOR. Probably seen in New York Harbor. A large wooden crate is seen being lifted from the vessels hold, while crew members stand to observe. The image is taken from above, looking off toward the bow, the street is visible in the background with men seen looking up toward the 492 foot vessel. Typed on original negative sleeve: "124797F / 8/23/49 / Farrell S/S Lines / aboard AFRICAN ENDEAVOUR [sic] / 5078".
