The Franklin Mint silver ingot #49, Great Sailing Ships of History, first edition proof, 1500 grains sterling; sloop skipjack, 20th century; obverse: port view of skipjack on starboard tack; reverse: descriptive paragraph, "Used to dredge for oysters in Chesapeake Bay, skipjacks comprise the only commercial sailing fleet still in operation in the US. Noted for its ease of handling, the skipjack has been in use in Chespeake Bay since the early 1890's." Four hallmarks stamped on lower edge.
