The Andrew Radel Oyster Company operated along the coast of Connecticut and Long Island. Standard Oysters Company of New Suffolk, Long Island was the sole producer of Robbins Island Oysters. Standard Oysters is a Subsidiary of The Andrew Radel Oyster Company. According to Oystering from New York to Boston by yJohn M. Kochiss, The Andrew Radel Oyster Company was one three leading oystermen of Connecticut and owned the most cultivated fround anywhere. Each of the three owned about 11,000 acres.
