Image of 64' David Pedrick, Bruce Nelson, and Britton Chance designed, Robert Derecktor built 12 meter sloop STARS & STRIPES (built 1986 in Mamaroneck, NY) and 66' Bruce Farr, Ron Holland, Laurie Davidson designed, McMullen & Wing and Marten Marine built 12 meter sloop NEW ZEALAND (built 1986 in Auckland, New Zealand) at Louis Vuitton Cup race off Fremantle, Australia. Visible in image: port bow views of STARS & STRIPES (US55) and NEW ZEALAND (KZ-7) running before the wind under marconi-rigged mainsail and spinnaker running towards leeward mark, specatator fleet in background.
