Starboard beam view in rough seas of the 144' hermaphrodite brig (also called a brigantine) LADY GODIVA, ex. MOHICAN, ex. NORSEMAN, designed in 1890 by St. C.J. Byrne and built by Laird Brothers of Birkenhead, England in 1890. Handwritten on surface upper right in pencil, "133". Gielow label underneath hull of vessel to the right, "9545 / HENRY J. GIELOW / ENGINEER, NAVAL ARCHITECT / AND YACHT BROKER / 23 W. 43rd STREET, NEW YORK". Handwritten lower left from negative printed on print, "12371-Lady Godiva".
