Plate, white salad or bread plate with blue trim and fouled anchor insignia; recovered from the wreck of the POLLUX (built 1939) in 1988 and given to survivor Henry Strauss; markings on bottom in green "BUFFALO/ CHINA", "K" and "MA [rest obscured by masking tape]"; handwritten on masking tape on bottom "BROUGHT UP FROM USS POLLUX AT LAWN/ NEWFOUNDLAND 8/88 AND GIVEN TO ME THERE/ BY THE SCUBA DIVER."; used by the U.S. Navy and known as "anchor china".
