Seated in the cockpit with a black cap on is the owner John N. Matthews, Jr. VIM was a 12 meter sloop, #US15, built in 1939 by H.B. Nevins in City Island, New York from a design by Sparkman & Stephens. Mount information embossed: "MAY 58". Processor's stamp: "Made in U.S.A. / (black) 8".
