In the background is a race committee boat to the left and various spectator vessels. EASTERNER was a 65'6" twelve meter sloop built in 1958 by James E. Graves, Inc. of Marblehead, Mass. and designed by C. Raymond Hunt for the Easterner Syndicate with Chandler Hovey as the manager. She raced in the America's Cup trials of 1958 and 1962.
