8x10 safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons on December 8, 1931. Image is an overview taken from within the yard probably from the roof of a tall building looking out over the Todd Yacht Basin and Ship Yard Corporation located in Brooklyn, New York with a view of mostly private steam yachts and some commercial power vessels in winter storage or hauled out in the drydock and being refitted. Two of the vessels have been identified as the steam yacht NOURMAHAL and the excursion vessel AMERICANA. NOURMAHAL, 3rd vessel of that name was owned by Vincent Astor starting in 1928 and was a 263'3" motor yacht built in 1928. AMERICANA was a 209'8" excursion steamer built by the Buffalo Drydock Company in 1908. Typed negative sleeve info.: "41588 / [Box] 2199-12 / General view at Todds".
