Chest; Fur covered chest; from the collection of George Elliott (1810-1862); large wooden chest covered in fur (possibly seal), attached by metal tacks (some in decorative forms); front has a small metal latch, as well as a keyhole and locking mechanism; back features two metal hinges with which are used to open the lid, while the interior side of the hinges is supported by strips of leather; the interior of the trunk is lined in a blue colored paper (though much has peeled away); both outer sides have metal plates, where handles most likely would have been situated to help with carrying the chest.
