CHEROKEE was a 37'3" 6 Meter Class sloop, sail #US53, designed by Sparkman & Stephens, Inc. and built by Henry B. Nevins, Inc., of City Island, New York in 1930 and was owned in 1935 by Herman Frasch Whiton. Stamped neg. sleeve info.: "72982F / SEP 22 1935 / INTL 6 METRE 1935 / [BOX] 4216".
