View of International Snipe Class sloop, #BL5212, raced by the Brazilian crew in 1949, undersail port quarter view on a starboard tack in high winds with the crew leaning over or draped over the starboard side. Snipe #BL5212 was a 15'6" William F. Crosby design built by or before 1949. She was raced in the International Snipe Class races of August 22, 1949 held by the Larchmont Yacht Club of Larchmont, New York and sailed by the skipper Gastao Hugh Pullen Pereia de Souza and crewman Pedro Avelino.
