5x4 safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons in 1963. Image of the sloop CYANE, in the fog, passing on the left side of the BRETON metal light during the time of the Transatlantic Race. CYANE, sail #707, was a 46'1" auxiliary aluminum sloop built in 1959 by Jakobson Shipyard of Oyster Bay, New York and designed by Sparkman & Stephens, Inc. She was the second of two vessels of the same name built for Henry du Pont with very similar dimensions. Stamped neg. sleeve info.: "174835 / TRANSATLANTIC 1963 / [BOX] 5901".
