VIM, #US15, was a 70' 12 meter class sloop, designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built by Henry B. Nevins, Inc. of City Island, New York in 1939. She was commissioned by Harold Vanderbilt and launched in May of 1939. She was bought by Rod Stephens and Briggs Cunningham who won 19 of 27 races during the 1939 season.
