Ukulele used onboard the CHARLES W. MORGAN during the vessel's 38th Voyage by Josephine "Joee" Patterson, deckhand; made by Zeke Leonard, Assistant Professor of Art, Design, and Transmedia at Syracuse University and founder of Salt City Found Object Instrument Works. Ukuelele body made out of a cigarbox, sound hole cut out in the shape of an anchor overtop the painted cigar brand label; neck glued or screwed to the box, head stamped 'SALT * CITY / * I W * / FOUND OBJECT / #057'. Metal tuning pegs; ends of tuning pegs, nut, and bridge made from white plastic; strings are plastic. Tailpiece made out of the handle of a metal spoon. Cigar box top decorated with decals and part of paper stamp reading 'Republica Dominicana". Ukulele tuned from left to right G-C-E-A. Overall good condition; watch strings for wear. Overall: 18 3/4 x 5 3/4 x 3 in.
