Black-and-white photograph of the schooner smack ALWILDA MORSE. Written below photograph in pen as well as on the reverse, 'Sch. smack "ALWILDA MORSE" - 17 net tons, under construction at the yard of A. & M. Gamage at So. Bristol, ME. in 1872. Her registered dimensions were 45.7' x 15.9' x 5.7'. She hailed from Portland. The yard is still in operation under the management of Harvey Gamage who still builds commercial fishermen. The yard is on the N.E. side of the "Gut" and the causeway and bridge are seen in the background.' Additionally written on the reverse, ' [in black pen] PLEASE RETURN / TO / [stamped] JOHN F. LEAVITT / FARMHOLME RD. / STONINGTON, CONN.' Overall: 8 1/2 x 11 in.
