Two separate Civil War medals attached to blue ribbon. Nineteenth Union Army Corps GAR medal; White enameled cross-shaped medal, with wide, triangular arms, gold border, and gold octagonal center pinned to one end of frayed blue ribbon. Other end of the ribbon has a circular medallion attached with darker blue embroidery thread. Medallion is inscribed on both sides. One side reads: R.H. CLIFT / 1ST LIEUT & ADJUTANT / 22D ILL. INFT. / ARMY OF THE CUMBERLAND; other side reads: CHARLESTON BELMONT / NEW MADRID / TIPTONVILLE / ISLAND NO. 10 / FARMINGTON / CORINTH / NASHVILLE / STONE RIVER / CHICKAMUGA CREEK.
