Silver bowl used for trophy (came with plaques 1991.71.2-3); made in London by Sam Hood, 1699/1700, with hallmarks; cartouche engraved on one side at later time; two handles; won by yawl yacht DORADE for Trans-Atlantic Race in 1931 (Newport, RI, to Plymouth, England) given as first prize by Cruising Club of America and Ocean Racing Club of Great Britain (see plaque 1991.71.2); Olin J. Stephens II was skipper and received the bowl from his father, Roderick Stephens, who owned DORADE at that time.
