Scrimshawed sperm whale's tooth (A) mounted on mahogany base (B) with four ivory ball feet, one of pair with 1991.105.2AB; on one side of tooth a portrait of Daguerre over scene of photographer with camera and woman sitting for portrait; on other side engraved hip length portrait of woman; written in black ink inside bottom "1.2.298-2".
