Passengers on the deck of the CARPATHIA. Two men are playing shuffleboard in front of a row of people in deck chairs. Many of the women are reading newspapers or books or chatting with each other, but a pair at the end seems to be watching the players. There is a sun shade spread over the deck, and two of the passengers are sitting on a bench with a canopy over it (a type of bench that appears in later, famous photographs of TITANIC survivors on the deck of the CARPATHIA).
