A fold-out advertising brochure from the Orient Line advertising "Holiday Sea Trips" from England to the Mediterranean. In addition to featuring a number of beautiful destinations such as Tangier, Monte Carlo, Sicily, Pompeii, Toulon, the Great Pyramids of Egypt, Ceylon and Jerusalem, the brochure emphasizes that places that could be reached over land are more pleasant when reached by sea. It prominently states that "A sea tour is a tonic that fits you for your holiday as it fits you for your work." No ships are mentioned by name, but there is a reference to Orient Line's "new 20,000 ton steamers." Orient built several such ships in the late 1920s. The reference to Constantinople, which officially became Istanbul in 1930, also helps to date the brochure. The colorful and very modern cover art of the Sphinx and the Great Pyramids is likely by artist Horace Weston Taylor, who designed posters in a similar style for Orient Line in this time period.
