Photograph of the wreck of the MORRO CASTLE by night after it beached at Asbury Park. The photograph is dated September 8, 1934. The fire began in the early morning hours of September 8, 1934, and later that day the abandoned hull drifted to Asbury Park and grounded just off the beach, still burning and smoking.
