Spool of Zane Grey twisted 50's lea Cutty hunk linen line, #6, made by Ashaway Line & Twine, RI. Top label stripped and too difficult to read. Likely identical to 2022.31.3 label which reads “Ashaway / Zane Grey / Twisted 50’s / Lea Cuttyhunk / Linen Line / No. 6 - 50 YDS. / Wet Test Over 18 Lbs. / Used by the famous author and / angler in taking all his giant / record fish” around an image of a man showing off his large catch. Bottom label reads “Ashaway / Trade Mark / Fishing Lines / Ashaway Lines / Land More Fish”. Approximately half of the line remains on the spool, loose end secured with blue painter's tape. Spool found in the museum. Overall: 1 5/8 x 2 5/8 x 2 5/8 in.
