overall: 45 1/2 x 3/8 x 3/8 in.
One of fifteen projectiles grouped by obvious similarities in construction and style. Bamboo or reed shafts displaying notched ends to accept a bowstring. Haft section wrapped in plant fibers, though others appear to have been similarly constructed originally. Propelling end also previously wrapped in plant fibers based on construction patterns and intact examples on 2010.11.2-3 and 2010.11.11-12. Fore-sections are tapering wooden points approximately 18 inches long with reductions at their bases to fit snugly inside their respective shafts. Hafts are tightly-wrapped with plant fiber and further secured by sap, tar, or other naturally-occurring glue-like substance. All projectiles are darkened by an unknown process (likely stained or charred). Significant similarities shared with broken projectile 2010.11.436. All species unidentified. Date and location unknown. Overall: 45 1/2 x 3/8 x 3/8 in.
