One of eleven projectiles grouped by obvious similarities in construction and style. Donated to the collection in a loose bundle secured by plant fibers. Bamboo or reed shafts displaying notched ends to accept a bowstring. Propelling end wrapped with natural plant fibers, though others appear to have been similarly constructed originally. Fore-sections are tapering wooden points approximately 18 inches long with reductions at their bases to fit snugly inside their respective shafts. Hafts are tightly-wrapped with plant fibers and further secured by sap, tar, or other naturally-occurring glue-like substance. Significant similarities shared with broken projectile 2010.11.436 and assorted projectiles 2010.11.439. All species unidentified. Date and location unknown. Overall: 47 x 3/8 x 3/8 in.
