A luncheon menu dated August 11, 1962 from the QUEEN ELIZABETH. The menu is lavish, with many courses and options from salads and cold buffet to lamb cutlets, ribs and fried chicken. The front cover is decorated with a striking painting of a ballerina on a green background, and the back cover explains that it was made by Elizabeth Twistington Higgins. She was a ballerina in her 20s, when she was struck by polio and paralyzed from the neck down. She then taught herself to paint with her mouth and became an internationally exhibited artist. In 1961, she was featured on a popular BBC show called "This is Your Life," and Cunard used several pieces of her work on menus in the 1960s.
