A promotional booklet titled "The Cunarder AQUITANIA." The cover has a painting by artist Fred J. Hoertz of the four-funneled ship at sea. The book includes many black and white photographs of ship interiors, while the text emphasizes its luxuries, including antique furnishings and fine art, its decorations, and its remarkable food. The central pages, however, are titled "Notable Person Go Up and Down the AQUITANIA's Gangplank-- at Every Sailing and Arrival," and they include a number of celebrities and important men and women of the time. These include Lady Nancy Astor, an American-born woman who became the first female Member of Parliament in Britain, Sir Thomas Lipton of Lipton Tea, British Ambassador Sir Esme Howard, and Owen D. Young, founder of the RCA company and a negotiator in meetings about German reparations for World War I. Also included are two women athletes, golf star Glenna Collett and tennis champion Helen Wills, along with opera tenor Giovanni Martinelli. The book is undated, but the celebrity photographs date it to 1929 or shortly after.
