A Second Class passenger list for the September 13, 1904 voyage of the IVERNIA from Liverpool to Boston. Captain G.J. Jeffries was in command. The inside cover has a sailing schedule for ships including the CARPATHIA, PANNONIA, and CAMPANIA. The last two pages consist of passenger information, including an interesting ad for the then very new Marconi wireless telegraph. It quotes an article from the Daily Mail of August 5, 1904, just a month earlier, about an American passenger who left her jewels and money in a fireplace in a London hotel. She sent a Marconigram from sea to notify the hotel, which responded that the jewels were safe. The wireless telegram ended up having significant importance for safety at sea, but it was also a major convenience for travelers who would otherwise only be able to communicate by Transatlantic mail service.
