A passenger list for a voyage of the CARPATHIA from Liverpool to the Mediterranean and Adriatic. The itinerary is on the second page, which shows the ship leaving Liverpool on February 15, arriving in Gibraltar on February 19 and then proceeding to Algiers, Malta, Alexandria, Trieste, Fiume, Palermo and Naples. The cover is in color, with Mediterranean views painted by artist Odin Rosenvinge. The year of the voyage is not given anywhere, but based on names in this passenger list, we know that it corresponds to the voyage captured in a 1908 photo album in this collection (2020.39.41). Many of the people whose names are noted on the album photographs appear in this list, including Miles Forwood and his wife Dora Kerr Forwood, Jack and Daisy Johnson-Houghton, two men with the last name of Frost, and a family of Pilkingtons. Also appearing in some of those photographs are Captain Charles A. Smith and Ship's Surgeon David D.D. McIntyre, both listed with the officers on the third page. The CARPATHIA is best known for its voyages from New York to the Mediterranean, but on this trip the starting point was Liverpool, and many of the passengers are British.
