A postcard of the Seamen's Church Institute of New York, postmarked July 2, 1914 and addressed to Mrs. Alex Bedrosian, 930 E. 4th St., So Boston, Mass. The message says "I am sitting in the Writing room of this building now while writing this. it is on the second floor where the five w[indows] are." This is one of a group of postcards that seaman Joseph Miller sent to Mrs. Bedrosian over several years. Note that it was sent the same day as postcard #2020.39.7635.5 and is a different view of the same building, with the Titanic Memorial on the roof. The Seamen's Church Institute at 25 South Street was a new building at this time, built in 1913, and it provided dormitory style lodging for seamen as well as religious, educational and social services.
