A postcard from Liverpool, with a watercolor painting on the front of the city's skyline and ships in the harbor. The card was written July 11, 1915 and is addressed to Mrs. A. Bedrossian, 162 W. Sixth Street, So Boston Mass, USA. The message on the back says "Dear Marie We sail from here this Week on gov’t charter-how is every one at home? drop a line to the Ship to New York, Cunard Line office and they will forward it hope Esther is well Joe." Joseph Miller was a seaman on a Cunard ship, possibly still the CARPATHIA, at this time, and this is part of a series of cards he sent to Marie Bedrossian. This was sent a few days after another card, 2020.39.7635.16, in which he said the ship might soon be transporting troops to the Dardanelles, so that may be the nature of the government charter.
