A luncheon menu dated October 4, 1965 from the QUEEN MARY. The menu offers many courses and options, but the suggested menu at the center includes mulligatawny soup, fillet of weakfish, loin lamb chop with french fries and cauliflower, and for dessert a compote of peaches and pears with whipped cream. The front cover is decorated with a striking painting of two masked dancers on a blue background, and the back cover explains that it was made by Elizabeth Twistington Higgins. She was a ballerina in her 20s, when she was struck by polio and paralyzed from the neck down. She then taught herself to paint with her mouth and became an internationally exhibited artist. In 1961, she was featured on a popular BBC show called "This is Your Life," and Cunard used several pieces of her work on menus in the 1960s.
