Farewell dinner menu from the last night of a voyage on the QUEEN MARY, dated August 2, 1936. This is a rare menu from the ship's third class dining room, as the note at the bottom makes clear. The menu options are more limited compared to first class menus, but there are hors d'oeuvres, two soups, one fish option, three dinner entrees and some cold meat options, and two dessert options. The page includes two autographs, which are hard to read but seem to be the signatures of two stewards. The cover has a reproduction of an art piece, composed of inlaid wood. It is captioned "A colourful marquetry panel in the Third Class Garden Lounge, R.M.S. 'Queen Mary.'"The ship was very new at this time, having taken its maiden voyage on May 27, 1936. And later in this same month, on its August 20-24, 1936 voyage, the QUEEN MARY would set a speed record, reclaiming the so-called blue riband for Britain.
