A card signed by Frank P. Aks, a survivor of the TITANIC disaster. He was a 10 month old baby, the child of Polish Jewish immigrants who had settled in London before emigrating on to the United States. His father, a tailor, had gone ahead and sent for his wife and child when he could afford Third Class tickets for them. Frank became separated from his mother Leah Aks, but they both ended up in separate lifeboats. Aboard the CARPATHIA, Leah searched for her child everywhere, but it was several days before she heard a baby crying and recognized it as her child. The woman the baby was with insisted it was hers, but the captain of the CARPATHIA gave the child to Leah after she told him the baby was circumcised. After their arrival in the United States, Leah had two additional children, one of whom she named Sarah Carpathia in honor of the rescue ship. This card signed by Frank Aks is addressed to "Alan" and with the message "Thanks for your good wishes." It is signed "Frank P. Aks, TITANIC Baby."
