A postcard of the RMS OLYMPIC, with the White Star Line flag. This postcard was written on April 18, 1912, a few days after the TITANIC disaster of April 15, and was mailed on board ship. The message on it is written in Swedish and includes a reference to the sinking of the TITANIC. The postmark says "Transatlantic Post Office 5" which is OLYMPIC's onboard post office. Geneaological records suggest that Amanda Augusta Cedarvall, born 1876, and Axel Cedarvall, born 1871, were Swedish siblings. Amanda emigrated to Massachusetts, was married in 1913 and lived a long life in the United States, though we know less about Axel.
