A blank photographic postcard of the launch of the QUEEN MARY on September 26, 1934 at Clydebank, Scotland. The front of the card indicates that this is a Courier & Advertiser Photo. The caption on the back includes quotations from King George V and his wife Queen Mary, for whom the ship was named. A few years after this launch, QUEEN MARY began its famous WWII service as a troop transport, outrunning German U-boats to bring Australian and American soldiers to the European theater.
