Tristan Albatross egg (Diomedea dabbenena); species native to the Southern Hemisphere, likely collected on Tristan da Cunha before 1885. Large, off-white egg shell, intact, with dappled brown spotting, several taped cracks, one small hole where the egg was drained, and one broken hole with radiating cracks. Overall: 5 5/8 x 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 in.
