Wandering Albatross Egg (Diomedea exulans), also known as the Snowy Albatross; species native to the Southern Hemisphere, possibly collected on Tristan da Cunha before 1885. Large, elongate, off-white egg shell with light brown dappling. Intact, with a small hole at the wider end where the egg was drained. Handwritten label affixed to shell reads 'Albatros Egg'. Overall: 5 5/8 x 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 in.
