New Zealand King Shag Egg (Leucocarbo carunculatus); species native to New Zealand, likely collected in New Zealand before 1885 and brought to Tristan da Cunha as King Shags have only been known to visit the island rather than nest there. Three large pieces of a broken egg shell. The shell was medium-sized, chalky white with faint blue dusting, and pointed at both ends. Largest piece has 'king shag' written in pencil. Overall: 2 7/8 x 1 5/8 in.
