Great-winged Petrel (Pterodroma macroptera) or Atlantic Petrel Egg (Pterodroma incerta) (tentative ID); native to the Southern Hemisphere, possibly collected on Tristan da Cunha before 1885. Medium, bluish-white egg shell streaked with chalky white, pointed at one end, with scattered grey and brown staining, a small hole where the egg was drained, and the number 4 written in pencil. Overall: 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 in.
