Kelp Goose Egg (Chloephaga hybrida); native to southern Chile and the Falkland Islands, likely collected elsewhere and brought to Tristan da Cunha before 1885. Medium-large, beige-white egg shell, pointed at both ends, with a small hole where the egg was drained, the number 3 written in pencil, and 'Kelp Goose' written in ink in handwriting different from the rest of the collection; likely collected by another person and gifted to Beetham family on Tristan da Cunha. Overall: 3 1/2 x 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 in.
