South Polar Skua (tentative ID) (Stercorarius maccormicki); native to Southern Hemisphere, likely collected near Tristan da Cunha and brought to the island before 1885. Medium-large brown egg shell, with dark brown speckles (especially at end), a small hole where the egg was drained, and the number 2 written in pencil. Overall: 3 1/8 x 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 in.
