Commemorative cover envelope for the QUEEN ELIZABETH's maiden voyage. It was postmarked October 15, 1946 at Southampton, the day before the ship's first departure. It has a color drawing of the ship from a below the bow perspective, with its distinctive red and black funnels. The stamp is a King George VI peace stamp, also issued in 1946, recognizing the end of WWII and with symbols for the post-war priorities of housing, shipping, industry and agriculture.
