Chinese fan with carved ivory handle and sticks mounted in blue silk covered display case; no date, unknown maker. Fan is dual sided with different decorations on each side of silk leaf; first side painted to depict Chinese children in traditional robes surrounded by a border featuring fish, bees, and housing structures; reverse side decorated with two exotic birds (possibly a type of peacock?) surrounded by flowers. Ivory handle and sticks are intricately carved with florals and human figures. Display case uses glass on either side allowing for both sides of fan to be viewed, wooden frame and base covered with blue silk. Overall: 13 x 19 x 3 in.
