A black and white aerial view of a twin-engine Aero Comander 520 in flight over unidentified land mass, above residential and commercial or industrial buildings, thin cloud formations and distant mountainous land visible; tail number N4136B is legible. Stamp on reverse reads "Duplicates of this photograph are available at / PHOTOGRAPHY / BY / BILL GLEI Brown Studio TE20131 / 717 SOUTH PACIFIC AVENUE SAN PEDRO, CALIFORNIA / File Number 765-8". (Possibly the Aero Commander 520 used to transport KIALOA I crew during the 1962 San Diego - Acapulco race, based on notation on similar photo, 2021.12.52.) Image very slightly out of focus, in excellent condition. Overall: 8 x 10 in.

See Manuscripts Collection 382 for material documenting 20th-century yachting, the sailing career of John B. “Jim” Kilroy Sr. and yachts named KIALOA held in the G.W. Blunt White Library of the American Institute of Maritime Studies at Mystic Seaport Museum.
