Sailmaker's bench, used by Dominick Tripaldi at the Ratsey & Lapthorn Sail Loft, City Island NY; wooden, with shellac finish; at end of bench is wooden fid holder; canvas pouches attached along side and back of fid holder; bench hook attached to fid holder with white cord; black metal plaque attached with two brass screws on bench reads: "DOMINICK TRIPALDI/ RATSEY & LAPTHORN, INC./ CITY ISLAND, N.Y./ NOV. 15, 1924 - JAN. 23, 1973".
