Paperweight; probably collected by Captain Timothy M. Benson during voyages of bark MARTHA DAVIS [1878-1889]; rectangular clear glass, rounded corners; gelatin print affixed to bottom of glass: three Japanese women wearing kimonos, "sailing" in wooden rowboat, probably in photographer's studio; two women hold oars; printed beneath image "On the Ocean Wave"; photograph sealed to paperweight with red paint, visible on reverse; glass fractured at left; paperweight found in desk 95.117.63.
